About AMP Credit Union


Our History

AMP Credit Union was incorporated on the 9 November 1971 and commenced operation on 6 December 1971.

Initial investigation into the establishment of the Credit Union was made by A.M.P Staff Association together with a committee appointed by like minded A.M.P Society employees. Board of directors appointed on incorporation.

AMP Credit Union joined forces with GIO Staff Credit Union Ltd on the 22 December 1999.

The field of membership also expanded. AMP Credit Union officially known as A.M.P. Employees' and Agents' Credit Union Ltd, initial membership was employees and agents of the following companies as well as their friends and relatives: AMP Society, AMP General Insurance Ltd, AMP Shopping Centres, C.SC Australia Ltd and GIO Australia. The membership base to the Credit Union evolved to include anyone who wished to join the Credit Union.
